Loadpot and Bonscale Pike from Fusedale

In a run of amazing weather we set off up Fusedale. It's just our kind of valley this. Peaceful and lacking in humans. On a day like this I can't imagine anything more idyllic.

Oops, she wasn't expecting a ewe to jump out of the bracken!

Climbing up alongside Groove Gill. It's hot and none of us are fell fit, so we are really finding this hard work today

Plenty of pauses to take in the views

Finally we reach the top and sit down for our pasties

It was worth all the hard work

The cotton grass is particularly good this year

A bog on the way to Loadpot (which we can see from our house) provides an opportunity for Bog Dog to cool down

Bonscale Tower - this is our turning point

Ullswater below us

A Brace of Steamers

A Beautiful Spaniel

Steep descent

And virtually back to the car
A very hot, tiring but lovely 6 miles. It's always nice to be on the fells that provide the backdrop to your back garden!
