High Rigg

Unfortunately Jeff decided not to come for a walk today as he didn't feel too good, but he was happy for us to carry on without him.

Breeze is as eager as ever

To be first to the top! Blencathra is the backdrop for much of today's walk

After a short sharp climb to the top of High Rigg, it is then a lovely ridge walk

With just a few bogs to avoid. The one ahead is one that I once had to pull a lady out of when she went in up to her armpits.

Over the ladder stile

Jay is with us today!

Passed Bog Bean Tarn (named by John P)

Blencathra behind us

Thirlmere ahead

John P's house down on our left

After Wren Crag we start the descent

But stop for an early lunch while we have a tree trunk in the sun to sit on

Then it is a very gentle stroll along the fell bottom

following the intake wall

Then through Low Bridge Farm, with (among other things) it's Badgerface sheep

Back to the intake wall

before reaching the Church of St John where we had left the car
Such a lovely walk with a little bit of everything - except a husband today. 5.5 miles in total
