A Few Rare Pictures

You might have noticed, I rarely put pictures of any of the horses on here. There is a very good reason for that. You try dealing with half a tonne of highly tuned Thoroughbred and a camera at the same time. I met James at the local horse pool this afternoon where we have been swimming the two current mounts a couple of times a week. Emma the girl who runs it had friend staying (another pair of hands!) AND, I had my camera in the car. So with no encouragement, I chucked the line at Emma's friend and relinquished my role in the middle of the pool and went and fetched said camera.

'Mongoose' (Kealigolane)

and 'Kevin' (Cavite Eta)

Oh and by the way - never ask me to give your horse a stable name, you have just seen what damage I can do.

Changing Right Before Our Eyes

When you see her every day, it is inevitably hard to see just how much Breeze is growing until you think back to how big everything else was in comparison. At 8 weeks, Olly The Octopus was bigger than her head
And her kong was nearly half as big

Here she is now at 18 and a half weeks

Three times as big and a hundred times more trouble! But she's still gorgeous.

Aiming for Australia

We've cleared one of the potato beds, so it doesn't matter so much if Twinkle Toes messes about in it now, and she's making the most of it.
"I wonder how far it is?" "What you looking at?"

Those feet were made for digging

Puppy Playground

There are lots of nice places to grow up but I think Breeze is a very lucky girl to have a playground like this on her doorstep (Rospow Hills)

not many of us learnt to swim in surrounding like this either (Carrock Beck)
Ullswater - Yes, she really is swimming!
and she gets a chauffer driven car thrown in too!

New Friends and an Evening Stroll

This morning Breeze had visitors. We were all in the allotment, when John called in with his two girls to meet her.
Polly

and Teagan - she is a rescue who John has only had for a couple of weeks, so is still a bit timid herself

It was such a beautiful day, we decided to have an early supper and head up Carrock Fell in the evening. Good decision!

Life is a Whirlwind

I don't know where the time goes at the moment. OK, so I do know. Mostly it is spent puppy sitting, but then there are racehorses to be ridden, Golf courses to be played and a social life to manage too. No surprise that Breeze is scared of the hoover - she's only seen it twice in about 9 weeks. Mind you, who can blame her? I'm scared of it and I've seen it many more times than that. Just to prove that she really is growing up, here is a brief update on her..........

She now has her own room. The Scullery is well and truly hers, her box has been moved in - with not so much as a murmur of discontent, and the stool that she adopted as her perch has been moved from where it was (behind where her box is now), so that she can still perch on it whenever she likes.

Like all puppies, she has regular Hoolies, when the back and tail arch and she races around like a dog possessed. Mostly chasing flies - thankfully her obsession with birds has been thwarted before she managed to smash all the sunroom windows.

She does have the odd quiet moment too (though they are rare!)

And of course, plenty of cute moments

Oscar still gets lots of visits, and now his mate Galli gets to join in too. Galli is a bit more boisterous than Oscar, but breeze is getting braver and so we decided it was time to include him

She seems to be happy with that decision

Not so sure Galli was so impressed though!

Horses are going to be a bit of a theme in Breezes life, so it is handy that Vicki's Three kings are on hand at play time. From left to right.......

Leading Man (Champ), Hurlstone Tower (Basil) and Harmony Brigg (Harmony)

Horses haven't phased her yet!
